Use of the site
The calculators are free to use, for personal and for business purposes, with no account and no licence to buy. Using them means accepting what is on this page.
What we ask in return is narrow: do not scrape the site at a volume that interferes with it, do not interfere with how it works or how it is paid for, and do not present it as your own or suggest that we endorse something we do not.
The results are information, not advice
Nothing here is legal, tax or payroll advice. The arithmetic is straightforward and we take it seriously, but whether a particular hour is overtime, whether a job is exempt, which holidays your employer observes and how your pay is taxed depend on your state, your contract and your circumstances.
Pay figures are gross — before tax and deductions. Check any result against your payslip, your contract or your payroll department before relying on it.
Accuracy
We make a reasonable effort to be correct, and we say where our rules come from: federal overtime from the Department of Labor, federal holidays computed from 5 U.S.C. § 6103 and checked against the Office of Personnel Management's published schedules. Each calculator carries the date it was last reviewed.
Even so, the site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that it is free of error, that it is current with every change in the law, or that it is available at any given moment. If you find a mistake, please write — see Contact.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from using this site or relying on a figure it produced, including lost pay, disputed wages, missed deadlines or any indirect or consequential loss. You are responsible for checking a result before acting on it.
Your entries
Everything you type stays in your browser; we never receive it. A share link carries your entries in the link itself and anyone holding the link can read them, so sharing one is your decision and your responsibility. See the privacy policy.
Content and ownership
The text, the design and the code of this site belong to its owner. Linking to any page is welcome and needs no permission. Copying the tools, the articles or the layout to republish elsewhere is not.
Government material we rely on — the text of the law, the Department of Labor's and the Office of Personnel Management's published guidance — is in the public domain and belongs to nobody. We summarise it in our own words. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any government agency, and names any third party only to cite it.
Advertising
No advertising runs on this site today. If that changes, ads will appear below the tools and never between the inputs and the result, and the privacy policy will describe the network before the first one appears.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the site after that means accepting the new version.
